Dean Dennis Pendleton
Welcome to the virtual home of UC Davis Extension—the lifelong learning arm of the University of California, Davis. Since 1960 UC Davis Extension programs have provided an extensive array of opportunities for learning, growth, and community service, engaging the university in the lives of the broader communities it serves. Our continuing and professional education programs serve more than 60,000 adult learners each year. Through valuable partnerships with campus faculty, public agencies and community organizations, our research-based educational initiatives address key issues of society and help to improve the quality of life in our communities.
UC Davis Extension programs offer flexible, innovative curricula in many formats to address a wide variety of educational needs, and our substantial and growing distance learning repertoire enables us to reach students "anywhere, anytime" with courses that range from algebra for K-12 teachers to winemaking. The "knowledge society" is a current reality, and continuing education is more important now than ever before. Transforming lives, organizations and communities through lifelong learning is the UC Davis Extension mission, and we see positive examples of the transformative power of knowledge and education in our work each day.
