Special Discounts

Please note: As of July 1, 2005 we can no longer process credit card payments online for discounted enrollments. You do have the option of submitting your enrollment information online and requesting a callback at a time that is convenient for you to provide your credit card information by phone to our student services staff. You may also enroll by fax, mail, phone or in person. If you have any questions call our student services office at 800-752-0881.

Special discount options cannot be combined and are not retroactive.

Proof of membership or employment is required at the time of enrollment to receive one of the following discounts.

For groups

Organizations enrolling three or more people at the same time in courses which indicate "discounts for groups" may do so for 10 percent off each enrollment. All registrations must be submitted at the same time and fees paid with one check, credit card or purchase order.

For affiliation

Members of some organizations or associations may enroll in select courses (noted in course descriptions) at a 10 percent discount.

For CAAA members

Members of the California Aggie Alumni Association may enroll in one UC Davis Extension course per quarter at a 10 percent discount. For discount, course fee must be more than $50 and less than $1,000.

UC Davis staff discounts

All UC Davis career faculty and staff are eligible for one of the following fee discounts:

20% discount: All UC Davis and UCDMC career staff are eligible for a 20% discount, which applies to UC Davis Extension courses, as well as Concurrent/Open Campus courses. The total reduction allowed per course is limited to $200 maximum. For example, if the course fee is $1,200, the maximum discount is $200; the staff member would pay $1,000. Employees who initially enroll in a course under this discount policy may not withdraw, re-enroll or transfer to another course during the same quarter and receive the 50% space-available discount described below.

• University Research Expeditions Program

50% discount: All UC Davis and UCDMC career staff are eligible for a special 50% discount when they enroll in courses three or fewer working days prior to the course start date. This discount is only offered on a space available basis and it applies to all UC Davis Extension courses, except concurrent/open campus courses and other exceptions as indicated below. Staff enrollments will be accepted via phone, fax, mail or email with payments by check, credit card or campus recharge. No enrollment will be accepted at a 50% discount in advance of three working days of the course start date.

All UC Davis and UCDMC layoff status employees are eligible for a 50% discount on applicable UC Davis Extension open enrollment courses. Staff must request the 50% discount and provide proof of layoff status at the time of enrollment in order to receive the discounted fee.

These courses are exempt from the 50% discount:

• Executive Program
• Management Development Program
• All distance education courses
• Horse programs
• IT Intensive programs
• All Brewing programs
• University Research Expeditions Program
• Self-supporting master's degree programs
• Open Campus
• Paralegal Studies program

Other conditions:

The staff discounts of 20% or 50% may not be used with any other discount or reduced fee offer. The discount applies only to the course fee. Other course-related items, such as books, housing, meals, parking and/or transportation are excluded from the discount. Reduced fee discounts may not be applied retroactively.

Staff must request the desired discount and provide either proof of UC employment or proof of layoff status at the time of enrollment in order to receive the discounted fee.
