Loan Information

UC Davis Extension is now an approved training institution for two loan providers:

  • Citibank
  • The Educational Resource Institute (TERI)

Each loan program has different requirements and applicable restrictions. Any decision whether or not to grant a loan is up to the individual loan institution.

Citibank

  • Straightforward pricing. The CitiAssist loan is linked to the Prime Rate as published in The Wall Street Journal (Prime plus 0.375%). There are no additional loan origination or guarantee fees, so you get 100% of the money you borrow.
  • No payments while in school. Though no payments are due while in school, you always have the option of paying interest and principal, without penalty, to help lower your monthly payment once you complete your coursework.

Application process

  • We recommend beginning the loan application process at least 60 days before classes begin.
  • Apply online at http://www.studentloan.com/schools/uc/unex-davis/, or obtain an application from the UC Davis Extension registration office (call (800) 752-0881 or email) to have an application mailed to you. Carefully read the instructions and the promissory note before completing the application. The co-signer, if required, should complete the applicable section and sign the application.
  • Mail or bring the completed application to: UC Davis Extension, Attention: Registration Office, 1333 Research Park Drive, Davis, CA 95618-4852. UC Davis Extension will certify your CitiAssist loan application prior to your enrolling in courses.
  • Citibank loans require first loan to be disbursed within 6 months of the loan. The final check must be disbursed before the 12th month.
  • Once the loan is approved, Citibank will send loan funds directly to UC Davis Extension. Students will be notified by phone once the funding has been approved.
