Paul Taylor West Coast Dance Intensive

The Paul Taylor West Coast Dance Intensive is a professional training course in modern dance. Taught by Taylor dancers, it is a comprehensive, two-week residential Paul Taylor Dance Company program. After 53 years of making extraordinary dances, Paul Taylor remains one of history's most highly regarded performance artists. Taylor choreography is now in the repertoire of many of the world's leading ballet and modern dance companies. As a serious dance student, you will find it essential to learn the Taylor style, and for maximum benefit, to learn it from Taylor dancers.

The program includes a daily training regimen in the Taylor style. Mornings are devoted to instruction in ballet, body work, movement and technique. Afternoon sessions include repertory and understanding the dance trade.

All classes will be held on the University of California, Davis campus, located in Northern California. Davis is approximately 15 miles from Sacramento and 70 miles from San Francisco.

Housing is available and consists of full room and board in comfortable university residential suites. Double-room occupancy is standard. A limited number of single rooms will be available for an additional fee. Three meals a day are included as is full use of UC Davis recreational facilities including: the Activities and Recreation Center (which includes a large fitness center), the Recreational Pool, tennis courts and the Memorial Union (bowling alley, billiards and games area).

Participants in the Paul Taylor Dance Intensive are eligible to receive 6 quarter units of academic credit (X430.1) upon successful completion of the intensive.
