Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders
Explore the latest research on potential causes, best practices for assessment and intervention, areas of impairment, as well as current legal and ethical issues related to autism services. Course includes instruction and lectures by faculty from the UC Davis MIND Institute, an international leader in the field of autism research.
Applied Behavior Analysis Strategies and Interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorders
Gain a general understanding of applied behavior analysis principles and how they can be used in an educational environment to teach various skills and support student behavior. Apply the concepts and principles you learn in class through role playing and other hands-on activities.
Programs
Online Professional Concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorders
This program is open to anyone who has an interest in autism education, but is particularly geared to professionals who work with autistic children in education settings. More than 500 professionals have completed the program in the past three years.
Certificate Program in Autism Spectrum Disorders
Building on the three-course professional concentration program, the certificate offers advanced coursework designed to strengthen the clinical competencies of special educators and other licensed professionals who work with special needs children.
Early Start Denver Model
Offered by the UC Davis MIND Institute in partnership with UC Davis Extension, this highly regarded model was developed by Dr. Sally Rogers and Dr. Geraldine Dawson especially for those who work with autistic infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Introductory and advanced courses are available.

UC Davis Extension is pleased to announce an articulation agreement with Project Impact at the San Joaquin County Office of Education, which provides our graduates an immediate option for completing the requirements for the CCTC-Added Authorization.
