Best Practice Strategies and Interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorders
Review the many best practices and methodologies for instructing students with autism. A number of evidence-based strategies are covered, including: structured teaching, accommodations, modifications, peer-mediated interventions, self-advocacy and self-awareness training, and strategies for addressing social, play and leisure activities.
Early Start Denver Model - Introductory Workshop UC Davis MIND Institute
Learn about the theoretical and empirical framework, curriculum and teaching principles of the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)—a developmental, behavioral and relationship-based intervention program for infants and toddlers with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ages 12-48 months.
Early Start Denver Model - Advanced Workshop offered by UC Davis MIND Institute
Gain in-depth training in the curriculum assessment and teaching procedures of the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). Learn how to generate and embed a developmentally appropriate teaching curriculum into naturalistic routines for infants and toddlers with ASD.
Programs
Online Professional Concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorders
This program is open to anyone who has an interest in autism education, but is particularly geared to professionals who work with autistic children in education settings. More than 500 professionals have completed the program in the past three years.
Certificate Program in Autism Spectrum Disorders
Building on the three-course professional concentration program, the certificate offers advanced coursework designed to strengthen the clinical competencies of special educators and other licensed professionals who work with special needs children.
Early Start Denver Model
Offered by the UC Davis MIND Institute in partnership with UC Davis Extension, this highly regarded model was developed by Dr. Sally Rogers and Dr. Geraldine Dawson especially for those who work with autistic infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Introductory and advanced courses are available.
