Organizational Issues in Public Policy
Even good policies can fail in their implementation. This session builds on the Foundations of Public Policy by exploring the policy implementation process from the top-down and bottom-up perspectives. Consider:
- The formative nature of organizations in the policy process
- Common sources of policy failure
- How organizational theory can inform better policy design
- The importance of feedback loops and performance benchmarks
- Managing collaborative/multi-agency initiatives
