Academic Credit

I would like to take my Clear courses through UC Davis Extension. After I complete all of the courses, will UC Davis Extension recommend me to CTC for my Professional Clear Credential?

No. UC Davis Extension will not recommend you to CTC for your Professional Clear Credential. The institute where you completed your Preliminary Credential is responsible for recommending you to CTC for your Professional Clear Credential.

What do your Clear Credential courses fulfill?

Successful completion of our Clear Credential courses fulfills the Ryan (multiple or single subject) Clear California Teaching Credential.

Does UC Davis Extension offer a Reading course with an emphasis on English Language Learners to clear my Professional Clear Credential?

No. UC Davis Extension does not offer this type of course.

Does UC Davis Extension offer a Computers Challenge Test?

No. UC Davis Extension does not offer this test.

I need a level II or advanced computers course to clear my credential. Do you offer such a course?

No. UC Davis Extension does not offer this type of course.

Will the courses I take satisfy a requirement for my California Teaching Credential?

Time and Cost

I work full-time and have a family. How much time can I expect to spend on assignments and homework?

Assignments will vary according to the instructor. In most cases you will be expected to do short readings or research between sessions. Past participants have found our courses engaging and challenging, but manageable when balanced with a full work- and/or family-life. If you have specific concerns, please contact us to discuss options.

How much can I expect to spend on textbooks?

Instructors require a variety of required and recommended textbooks depending on the course. For the Clear courses, expect to spend about $95.

Completion

How can I check my grade at the end of a course?

After the instructor has submitted grades at the end of the course, Student Services will mail you a grade report. You may also create an online customer account to access your grade report as needed.
