CAMEO 1 (CAMEO Chemicals and ALOHA Haz Mat Software)

Learn to use CAMEO Chemicals and ALOHA, two of the four programs that make up the Computer Aided Management of Emergency Operations (CAMEO) suite of programs, to assist in hazardous materials emergency response and planning. CAMEO Chemicals is a powerful database of nearly 6,000 chemicals. ALOHA is a program for modeling of air plumes, explosions and fire thermal impacts. These programs work together to enhance your emergency planning and provide critical data in the event of a hazardous materials emergency.

Using this software, learn to look up detailed chemical information within seconds; identify unknown chemicals; determine likely results from chemicals interactions; plot plumes of airborne to xic vapors; plot threat zones from chemical pool fires and explosions; determine indoor versus outdoor concentration levels of toxic vapors; and estimate when a plume will dissipate to a safe level. This course meets the prerequisite requirement to take CAMEO 2 (MARPLOT and CAMEO Haz Mat Software)

This course is an elective in the Workplace Health and Safety Certificate Program.
