Agricultural Health and Safety

Learn about the regulations pertaining to agricultural hazards, as well as ways to reduce work-related injuries and illnesses. This course will cover typical routes of exposure and methods of reducing exposure for fieldworkers and pesticide handlers. Examine the origin of the development of the federal Worker Protection Standard and its implementation into California's more comprehensive regulations. In addition, you will discuss the role of the Department of Pesticide Regulation and its relationship to Cal/OSHA in maintaining workplace safety. This course is an elective in the Workplace Health and Safety Certificate Program.
