This two-day conference will explore how climate change is affecting the environment and what society can do--and is doing--to minimize the negative effects. Learn some of the best practices cities and counties have adopted to combat this global issue. Discover how increased legislation, educational institutions, social advocacy groups and community outreach can create collaborations that will allow us to have a positive impact on the future of this planet.

Wetlands Regulation and Mitigation
Learn about the regulation of activities affecting wetlands, permitting for activities in wetlands and wetland mitigation planning. This course gives an overview of federal and state laws, and regulations that protect wetlands and other water bodies, with special emphasis on section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
Understanding Riparian Processes
Conservation and restoration of riparian systems requires an understanding of the processes that create and sustain them. This course, designed for resource managers and planners, will examine the structure, function and biotic value of riparian systems in the semi-arid west.
Special Status Amphibians and Reptiles of Northern California
Receive keen insight on the 14 reptile and amphibian species native to Northern California currently listed as threatened or endangered under the state and federal Endangered Species Act. Providing a history of herpetological conservation in California, you will learn information about state and federal protective laws, and permit categories, as well as the basics of site habitat assessments.
Workplace Health and Safety - ICP
The Health and Safety Intensive Certificate Program is designed to expand the awareness and practical skills of those responsible for employee health and safety. The intensive format allows you to complete the entire certificate over five weeks this summer.
The program examines critical safety and health issues confronting private business, industry and government, and provides the training necessary for managing a proactive health and safety program.

Energy Resource Management Certificate Program
Competing demands for more energy use and the need for smaller energy footprints require leaders across a wide range of industries to better understand the complex issues surrounding energy management. This new program is designed for professionals in engineering, construction planning and design and facility-plant operations who seek to expand their expertise in this critical area.
