Labor-Management Relations Certificate Program

For more than 40 years, the UC Davis Extension Labor-Management Relations Certificate Program has been the standard of excellence among labor and management representatives. In fact, the State of California’s Department of Industrial Relations recommends the program for all of its labor-relations officers.

Demand for experts in labor-management continues to grow as legislation and court rulings set new standards for employment conditions. These project-based, real-world courses provide perspectives from both sides of the table, and the classroom environment offers networking opportunities with instructors and peers.

“Living wages and adequate benefits create employee loyalty and business stability—benefits for the employee, the business and the economy as a whole.”—California State Senator Mark DeSaulnier

Testimonials:

"I am participating in the SAHRA mentoring program, and recently started a new chapter of my life working in the Labor Relations Department of the Department of State Hospitals. Earning the Human Resource Development and Management certificate and the Labor-Management Relations certificate from UC Davis Extension were the determining factors in my selection."

Linda McGaha, deputy labor commissioner, State of California, graduate of the Labor-Management Relations and the Human Resource Development and Management certificate programs

"Two years ago LRR Roni Jennings recognized my passion for employee rights and suggested I look into the UC Davis Extension program. Following that advice has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. The courses helped me understand the labor process from different perspectives--labor v. human resources and the private v. the public sector--all based on a foundation of knowledge about the statutes that protect unions', employees' and the employers' rights."
