Equip yourself with communication skills to effectively and efficiently talk with doctors and other health professionals, so you can get the information you need during medical visits and make the most of your time at appointments. Ultimately, this will help you understand what medical professionals are telling you and provide skills to help you better follow your practitioner’s recommendations. The objectives this quarter are to: 1) provide a background of the current healthcare atmosphere and 2) prepare you to get your information needs met by understanding different types of providers. All of this, and information from the spring quarter follow-up course, will help you achieve the best possible health care by understanding and communicating with medical professionals.
