Confined spaces can be highly dangerous, and each year as many as 60 deaths occur across the United States as a result of confined space operations. Learn to prevent confined space hazards through evaluation and review of appropriate work practices as mandated by CCR, Title 8, General Industry Safety Orders - Sections 5156-5158. Examine characteristics and classifications of confined space, physical and atmospheric hazards, duties of entrant/attendant/entry supervisor, confined space permits, atmospheric monitoring equipment, ventilation and rescue procedures. Attendees will see the latest in confined space entry and rescue equipment. This is an elective course for the Workplace Health and Safety Certificate Program.
