Learn practical, problem-solving approaches to non-office ergonomics. Discuss examples of the implementation of ergonomics in multiple non-office settings, including systematic approaches to evaluating industrial settings, quantitative analysis--such as the Job Strain Index and the NIOSH lifting equation--manual material handling principles, anthropometrics and tool selection and design. Review methods and models of control strategies to reduce or eliminate risk factors.

This course is an elective in the Workplace Health and Safety Certificate Program.
