Wine Grapes: Identification and Use

Receive an introduction to about 40 white and red winegrape varieties in this workshop designed for the grape grower, winemaker, viticulturist and nursery employee. White wine varieties are discussed on day one, and the reds on day two. Spend each morning in the field learning how to identify the wine grapes by their leaves, clusters and berries. The afternoon sessions focus on the origin, history and production aspects of each variety. The course will also cover grapevine improvement from the origin and use of clones, to past and modern era grape breeding.

Please dress appropriately for the morning vineyard sessions. Space is limited. Early enrollment is encouraged.
