To participate in the 15-month Accounting Principles Fast Track Certificate program, you must complete four courses, starting in Summer 2024 and ending in Fall 2025, as listed below. To participate in the Fast Track option, enroll in this section, pay for the program (at the discounted Fast Track rate) and our academic advisers will place you in the courses listed below.

Emily Anderson

Emily Anderson, CPA, M.S., is a tax accountant at Robertson Woodford & Summers, LLP, in Grass Valley. She specializes in tax accountancy and auditing. Anderson is also the treasurer for her local 4-H Club and with her husband purchases fixer-upper rental properties.

Eric Grizzell

Monique Smalling

Monique Smalling, MBA, CPA, has taught accounting and auditing courses at the university level for more than seven years. She started her career with an international accounting firm, and has worked as an SEC reporting manager for a publicly traded software company, a controller for a private golf club and a senior audit manager for a local CPA firm. Her area of expertise is preparing financial statements and presenting them to board of directors and audit committees.

James Venneman

James Venneman, MBA, CPA, CIA, is an audit manager with the State of California’s Controller’s Office and supervises six staff auditors. He has 27 years of experience at SCO performing compliance audits of counties, cities and school districts, as well as financial audits for several government entities. He is also a self-employed CPA and tax practitioner, serving individuals and sole proprietorships in the Auburn area. Venneman’s experience includes 15 years as an internal auditor and staff accountant in the banking industry.
