Talent management is a set of skills to provide continuous talent development to improve morale, company outcomes and personal fulfillment. Designed for new and seasoned human resource professionals, this course provides participants with the insights, frameworks, and tools to effectively manage and develop talent in organizations. Participants will practice best approaches to align talent development with strategic workforce planning goals; review alternative approaches to performance management; conduct and deliver effective performance feedback; and integrate such as leadership development, mentoring and coaching to drive cultures of excellence and improve overall employee performance. By the end of this course, students will understand methods for assessing the effectiveness of talent development programs and the critical role effective communication plays in every process.

Section Notes

This is an online course with live class sessions over Zoom on Thursday evenings at 6pm-9pm PST from September 19 - November 21, 2024. The final day of the course is November 27, 2024. 

Specific dates are subject to change. Students will be notified of any changes.

Please check your computer readiness for Zoom by conducting a Test Meeting at https://zoom.us/test. A strong internet connection and head phones with microphone are required.

Students will receive an email with login information to access the course one business day before the first day of class. 

Certificate Students: Students must earn a grade of C or higher (not a C minus) in order for this course to count towards the requirements for the certificate. A "C-" will not count as a passing grade for the purpose of the certificate. Coursework towards the certificate must be completed within five years.

This is a "Remote Classroom" format course- all instruction occurs face-to-face via Zoom online classroom. Technology is used to facilitate online activities, assess students (assignments, exams, etc.), or deliver content. You will receive an email on the course start date with information on how to log into the online class portal. Students must have a computer with access to the internet and an email account in order to complete this course.
