Taking a cue from the song “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?” made famous by The Kingston Trio, we will explore the many events in May to which flowers add special meaning. Guest lecturer Myrna Hays and class will discuss a bit of history of Memorial Day, Mothers’ Day and May Day, including little-known cultural traditions, with a focus on making May baskets. Participants will engage in a hands-on creation of their own little baskets and learn to make paper flowers.
